NFL Mock Draft 2013 Week 15 Edition

MockNFLDrafts.blogspot.com is back, bigger and better than ever - lets see how your team is shaping up for the 2013 NFL draft...

Kansas City Chiefs
Current Draft Position: 1st
Predicted Draft Position: 1st
Team Needs: QB, WR, OT, LB, CB
Who they want: Geno Smith (QB, West Virginia) - Romeo Crennell may not be there next year but if he is it is already clear he is unhappy with the QB position. A new coach may agree
Who they need: Mike Glennon (QB, North Carolina State) - More NFL ready than Smith the Chiefs could have a Colts type turnaround
Who they’ll get: Geno Smith - If they pick first overall expect them to make that move
Alternate Pick: Star Lotulelei (DT, Utah) - A top tier pick may be hard to ignore despite glaring needs elsewhere

Jacksonville Jaguars
Current Draft Position: 2nd
Predicted Draft Position: 2nd
Team Needs: QB, ROT, DE, CB
Who they want: Manti Te’o (ILB, Notre Dame) - Could be Heismann trophy winner and will add a menace to their defense
Who they need: Geno Smith (QB, West Virginia) - They need a star QB to get the ball to Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts
Who they’ll get: Star Lotulelei (DT, Utah) – Unless they take a QB it should be top rated player.
Alternate Pick: Damontre Moore (DE, Texas A&M) - A better fit in the Jags defense than Te’o, Lotulelei or Jarvis Jones, Moore could be an option if they pick below the top 3.

Philadelphia Eagles
Current Draft Position: 4th
Predicted Draft Position: 3rd
Team Needs: CB, S, OLB, OC
Who they want: Manti Te’o (ILB, Notre Dame) - Boosts their front 7 enormously
Who they need: Manti Te’o - See above
Who they’ll get: Manti Te’o – He will change this defense single handedly.
Alternate Pick: Jarvis Jones (OLB, Georgia) – Pass rush is another crucial position.

NFL Draft Order Week 15

NFL Final Draft Order predicted after Week 15

Each week of the NFL season we here at mocknfldrafts use our predictor for the remaining matchups to predict what order the draft will be picked. Unlike most mock drafts that just use current league standings, mocknfldrafts gives a more realistic picture of where teams will end up thus giving a more accurate mock draft. Lets see what the draft order will look like as of Week 15 (note: this is updated weekly!)

1. Kansas City (2-14) - Chiefs part of the worst division in the NFL
2. Jacksonville (2-14) - Jags rebuild is on again
3. Philadelphia (4-12) - Eagles tanked away and now have a new coach

NFL Mock Draft Round 1 (NFL Draft Edition)

MOCKNFLDRAFTS final mock - First 2 rounds of mock goodness for you to follow this Thursday and Friday! A redo of the 2nd round and the 3rd round will come out after Thursday night!

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: QB, CB, OG, DT, OC, ROT - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
Indianapolis have informed him, he is 2012’s overall number one draft pick

#2 - Washington (from St. Louis), Robert Griffin III-Quarterback, Baylor
Needs: QB, ROT, CB, S, OG, ILB - BNQ=5.8
The Redskins have made the trade and RGIII is going to Washington.

#3 Minnesota, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
Needs: LOT, FS, DT, WR, OL, DB - BNQ=2.7
There is no doubt the biggest need for the Vikings is corner but they also need a Left Tackle and Kalil is clearly the top tackle in the draft and too hard to pass up here.

NFL Mock Draft Round 2 (NFL Draft Edition)

#33 - St. Louis, Jonathan Martin-Offensive Tackle, Stanford (underclassman)
Definite 1st round talent who fills a position of need for the Rams. Martin is unlikely to fall into the 2nd round but the Rams won’t have to think too long on day 2 to make this pick.

#34 - Indianapolis, Coby Fleener-Tight End, Stanford
Luck re-joined with Fleener just seems like a perfect match.

#35 - Minnesota, Janoris Jenkins-Cornerback, North Alabama
They shied away from corner in the first round despite it being their biggest need. Jenkins is a top 20 talent with off-field issues that may drop him into the second round. The Vikings can’t afford to pass him up here.

#36 - Tampa Bay, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
The Bucs need help at linebacker and David has all the skills on the field and only his perceived upside compared to other players in his position has him dropping to the second round.

DRAFT PHILOSOPHIES - ALL 32 TEAMS

With the NFL Draft now only one week away we take a look at each team’s potential draft philosophy and analyze what players we expect they will be keen to get their hands on, all before our final mock (3 rounds worth) coming out Wednesday of next week!

INDIANAPOLIS - The Colts have a host of needs which, in any other year, may entice them to trade away their number #1 overall to get more picks. However, this is the Andrew Luck year, with more anticipation over Luck than any quarterback since John Elway (also from Stanford), this is a no brainer. 2nd round look to center Peter Konz, DT Kendall Reyes or guard Kevin Zeitler to fill one of a number of holes.
First Pick: #1 Best Fit: Andrew Luck Current Prediction: Andrew Luck

WASHINGTON - Gave up a second rounder and future first round picks just to land RGIII so other needs will have to wait until the 3rd round. They’d love Bobby Massie to be there but more likely to be Mitchell Schwartz or Brandon Mosley. CB’s Brandon Boykin or Trumaine Johnson are alternatives.
First Pick: #2 Best Fit: Richard Griffin III Current Prediction: Richard Griffin III

MINNESOTA - Three big needs in Left Tackle, Defensive Back and Wide Receiver happen to be perched at the top of their board. The only question is which one goes here? After the reach of Ponder last year they may be more conservative this year and save DB and WR for the 2nd and 3rd rounds respectively. Think Janoris Jenkins, Alfonzo Dennard, Harrison Smith or even Dwight Bentley in the 2nd and Mohamed Sanu or Brian Quick in the 3rd.
First Pick: #3 Best Fit: Justin Blackmon Current Prediction: Matt Kalil

NFL Mock Draft Round 3 (Pro Day Edition)

#65 - Indianapolis, Ben Jones-Center, Georgia
Jones grades out well and is not as big a reach as you may expect for a team that needs to replace long-time center Jeff Saturday who is a free agent.

#66 - St. Louis, Mohamed Sanu-Wide Receiver, Rutgers (underclassman)
If the Rutgers underclassman is still around in the 3rd round expect the Rams to rush to the selection table to immediately upgrade their receiving corps.

#67 - Minnesota, Jared Crick-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
Crick has some injury concerns which drops him down to Round 3 but the Vikings need quality across their new look defensive line and Crick is worth the risk here.

#68 - Dallas (from Cleveland), Ronnell Lewis-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Oklahoma
Lewis is excellent value for the Cowboys and will help their ailing pass rush.

NFL Mock Draft Round 2 (Pro Day Edition)

#33 - St. Louis, Devon Still-Defensive Tackle/End, Penn State
Definite 1st round talent who fills a position of need for the Rams. What’s not to like?

#34 - Indianapolis, Doug Martin-Running Back, Boise State
The Colts need a center and with Peter Konz still on the board he may be the pick here. However Doug Martin is a fringe first round talent and with word out of Indianapolis that they will be returning to a ground game this year it may come down to who they like most between Martin, David Wilson and Lamar Miller.

#35 - Minnesota, Janoris Jenkins-Cornerback, North Alabama
They shied away from corner in the first round despite it being their biggest need. Jenkins is a top 20 talent with off-field issues that may drop him into the second round. The Vikings can’t afford to pass him up here.

#36 - Tampa Bay, Brandon Weeden-Quarterback, Oklahoma State
The Bucs want some healthy competition for Josh Freeman who didn’t live up to the hype last season. Dan Orlovsky and Brett Ratliff hardly provide it but 28 year old Weeden is as pro ready as any of the Quarterbacks not named Luck or RGIII and gives Tampa’s new coaching staff some options.

NFL Mock Draft Round 1 (Pro Day Edition)

With the Pro Day's winding up we update our mock draft - getting close to the big weekend now!

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: QB, CB, OC, OT - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
With Peyton Manning going to Denver, Luck is as sure as it goes for the top spot.

#2 - Washington (from St. Louis), Robert Griffin III-Quarterback, Baylor
Needs: QB, RB, CB, ROT, WR - BNQ=5.8
The Redskins have made the trade and RGIII is going to Washington.

#3 Minnesota, Justin Blackmon-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State
Needs: CB, DB, DT, WR, OL - BNQ=2.7
There is no doubt the biggest need for the Vikings is corner and Morris Claiborne is available but Minnesota want a number one target for young QB Christian Ponder and see Blackmon doing for him what AJ Green did for Andy Dalton in Cincinnati last year.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Free Agency edition)

Latest Mock Draft with a host of changes...

#3 Minnesota, Morris Claiborne-Cornerback, LSU (underclassman)
Needs: CB, DB, DT, WR, OL - BNQ=2.7
The Vikings want to trade this pick and have upgraded at tackle during free agency which leaves the choice between WR Justin Blackmon and CB Morris Claiborne. A cleaner pick we lean towards Claiborne, but it is only a slight lean.

#4 Cleveland, Trent Richardson-Halfback, Alabama (underclassman)
Needs: QB, ROT, RB, WR, DB - BNQ=4.0
The Browns could reach for Ryan Tannehill but it seems more likely they will take their chances with Richardson. Kalil is another option but with 5 time pro bowler Joe Thomas at left tackle it may be an overpay for a right tackle.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Post Combine edition)

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: CB, DT, OT, QB - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
Andrew Luck, No #1. With Manning gone it is officially official.

#2 - St Louis, TRADE with Miami, Robert Griffin III-Quarterback, Baylor
Needs: ROT, DE, OL, TE, FS - BNQ=3.4
The rumours are rife that someone will deal with Jeff Fisher and St Louis for a host of draft picks to ensure RGIII heads their way. We like Miami to make a play but Washington, Kansas City and Seattle are also in the mix.

#3 Minnesota, Morris Claiborne-Cornerback, LSU (underclassman)
Needs: CB, DB, DT, LOT, WR - BNQ=2.7
Minnesota reached last year to get Ponder and may go back to the well for Justin Blackmon or look to Matt Kalil for protection. Right now we still have them taking Claiborne but don't be surprised if that changes in the upcoming weeks.

Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Post Combine edition)

#33 - St. Louis, Nick Perry-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, USC
It’s not a need pick but Perry being there on day two made it an easy option and new coach Jeff Fisher can certainly use a man of his abilities.

#34 - Indianapolis, Kendall Reyes-Defensive Tackle, Connecticut
The Colts need a defensive tackle and Reyes stock is climbing enough to have him on the fringe of the first round, seems like a good match.

#35 - Minnesota, Alshon Jeffery-Wide Receiver, Notre Dame
Jeffery is a prestigious talent and could be just what new QB Christian Ponder needs. can the Vikings keep Jeffery on the straight and narrow which is the biggest concern for most teams looking at the receiver.

MockNFLDrafts Combine Special

The NFL Combine starts in earnest today and while most eyes will be on players such as star Quarterbacks Andrew Luck out of Stanford and Heismann Trophy Winner Robert Griffin III from Baylor we here at www.mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com are going to take a look at some of the players who have been somewhat underneath the radar at this point but could make big movements up the draft board with a good showing this week. Last year saw players such as Julio Jones, Stephen Paea, Roy Helu and Torrey Smith improve their draft stock with good showings at the Combine and all four have produced on the field during last season. So who will make an impact this time around and who will surprise the most? We take a look after the jump.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Championship edition)

Here's this week's Mock Draft

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: CB, DT, OT, QB - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
Andrew Luck, No #1. It’s as straightforward as that.

Minnesota reached last year to get Ponder and may go back to the well for Justin Blackmon but the receiver has some off-field concerns and the Vikings could do worse than get an immediate starter in Claiborne to assist their horrible secondary.

Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Championship edition)

Here's Round 2

#33 - St. Louis, Fletcher Cox-Defensive End/Tackle, Mississippi State
The Rams need a DT and Cox has a first round grade on him so hard to see them passing him up on day 2 of the draft.

#34 - Indianapolis, Alfonzo Dennard-Cornerback, Nebraska
There are a number of corners with a first round grade and it seems likely one may fall into the second round, if so this is a great score for the Colts who need secondary help.

#35 - Minnesota, Mohamed Sanu-Wide Receiver, Rutgers (underclassman)
The Vikings already upgraded at CB and now try to do the same at WR. Sanu has good hands, is smart and will get open and is just what new QB Christian Ponder needs opposite Percy Harvin.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Superbowl edition)

Here is the Superbowl Edition of mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com. Feel free to leave your comments below

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: CB, DT, OT, QB - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
It looks more and more likely Peyton Manning won’t be a Colt in 2012, either way Luck is going number #1.

Minnesota reached last year to get Ponder and may go back to the well for Justin Blackmon but the receiver has some off-field concerns and the Vikings could do worse than get an immediate starter in Claiborne to assist their horrible secondary.

#4 Cleveland, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
Needs: QB, ROT, RB, WR, DB - BNQ=4.0
They may like Riley Reiff more or even Trent Richardson or Justin Blackmon but at this stage we will predict Holmgren makes the safe bet in Kalil. If RGIII fell to them they may take that chance also but don’t expect them to trade up for him.

Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Superbowl edition)

Here is Round 2 of this week's mock draft...

#33 - St. Louis, Fletcher Cox-Defensive End/Tackle, Mississippi State
The Rams need a DT and Cox has a first round grade on him so hard to see them passing him up on day 2 of the draft.

#34 - Indianapolis, Janoris Jenkins-Cornerback, North Alabama
Someone will take a chance on Jenkins to overcome off-field issues, and it may occur here if not before. Other choices are a DT or OL but none are rated as highly as Jenkins.

#36 - Tampa Bay, Zach Brown-Outside Linebacker, North Carolina
The Bucs like Brown to upgrade their linebacking corps and is good value at the top of the second round.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Conf Final edition)

Take a look at our mock draft for this week as of the Conference Championship Games.

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: CB, OT, DT - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
Breaking news has Andrew Luck going to the Colts, wow. Not really so breaking, owner Jim Irsay says he is taking Luck, they may trade him or the pick if Manning is healthy but otherwise Luck remains the number 1 draft choice for 2012.

#2 - St Louis, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
Needs: CB, OLB, DT, OT - BNQ=4.5
Some people think the Rams will draft Justin Blackmon but the need at tackle is just so great we can’t see them passing up Kalil for anybody (unless a super trade occurs). With Barkley returning to USC, Kalil is the undisputed number 2 on the board and will be just what St Louis need to help QB Sam Bradford stay upright.

#3 Minnesota, Justin Blackmon-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State
Needs: WR, DB, OL - BNQ=2.7
Minnesota like to take their guy as evidenced with the shock pick of Christian Ponder at #12 overall last year. Now they can go get Ponder some help with Blackmon who should be there unless the Rams pass up their tackle need for a receiver. If so Kalil becomes the likely pick here or CB Morris Claiborne, another Viking need.

#4 Miami, TRADE with Cleveland, Robert Griffin III-Quarterback, Baylor (underclassman)
Needs: QB, DT, ILB, OL - BNQ=3.4
We’ve had Miami missing on RGIII and taking WR Michael Floyd instead but Griffin may be too tempting to pass up and a trade with Cleveland at the right price is now a more likely scenario.

Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Conf Final edition)

#33 - St. Louis, Fletcher Cox-Defensive End/Tackle, Mississippi State
The Rams need a DT and Cox has a first round grade on him so hard to see them passing him up on day 2 of the draft.

#34 - Indianapolis, Jared Crick-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
Indy have needs at D-Line as well as corner or O-Line and maybe even running back. Crick is highly regarded and can play either end or tackle which should be enough for the Colts to pull the trigger.

#35 - Minnesota, Chase Minnifield-Cornerback/Kick Returner, Virginia
The Vikes need serious help CB and Minnifield is a guy that could rise the boards before too long with excellence intangibles and ability as a kick returner. Minnesota have Percy Harvin but may want to use him more in the offense and less in special teams. Either way this seems like a good choice for a team that likes to pick need first.

NFL Final Draft Order predicted after Divisional Playoffs

The first 28 draft spots have been confirmed however picks 29-32 are still to be decided. Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Div Playoffs edition)

Here is the 2nd round of our Mock Draft for this week...

#33 - St. Louis, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
We like the look of David out of Nebraska and he projects as an outside linebacker in a 4-3 which is a need for the Rams.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Div Playoffs edition)

Our standings remain the same after Wildcard Weekend but the picks have changed quite dramatically! Amazing what a week does, especially as we see which underclassmen declare and which return to college.

Now they can go get Ponder some help with Blackmon who should be there unless the Rams pass up their tackle need for a receiver. If so Kalil becomes the likely pick here or CB Morris Claiborne.

#4 Cleveland, TRADE with Miami, Robert Griffin III-Quarterback, Baylor (underclassman)
Needs: QB, DT, ILB, OL - BNQ=3.4
We’ve had Miami missing on RGIII and taking WR Michael Floyd instead but Griffin may be too tempting to pass up and a trade with Cleveland at the right price is now a more likely scenario.

Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Wildcard edition)

Here is Round 2 of the Mock Draft for 2012 as of Wildcard Weekend

#33 - St. Louis, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
We like the look of David out of Nebraska and he projects as an outside linebacker in a 4-3 which is a need for the Rams.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Wildcard edition)

Take a look at our mock draft for this week based upon the draft order as of wildcard weekend

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: CB, OT, DT - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
Still got Andrew Luck out of Stanford going here despite it being a secondary need for the Colts and a change at GM level could mean a change in tack. They do need Offensive Line help and Matt Kalil could be an option but realistically the Colts won’t pass up Luck unless it is via a trade. The only question left is whether Manning will be dealt and how will that affect the draft order if he does?

#2 - St Louis, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
Needs: CB, OLB, DT, OT - BNQ=4.5
Some people think The Rams will draft the best player at a position of need. They also need help in lots of areas including cornerback and wide receiver where Morris Claiborne and Justin Blackmon will come under consideration however Kalil is now the undisputed number 2 on the board and will be just what St Louis need to help QB Sam Bradford stay upright.

#3 Minnesota, Justin Blackmon-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State
Needs: WR, DB, OL - BNQ=2.7
Minnesota like to take their guy as evidenced with the shock pick of Christian Ponder at #12 overall last year. Now they can go get Ponder some help with Blackmon who also happens to be one of the best players on the board, seems like a nice match.

#4 Cleveland, Riley Reiff-Offensive Tackle, Iowa (underclassman)
Needs: RB, ROT, WR - BNQ=4.0
Holmgren has not been tempted by the flashy choices since taking over at Cleveland and will probably shun the skill positions for either more draft picks with a trade or a right tackle. We are still thinking Trent Richardson may go here especially if Peyton Hillis isn’t kept but right now safe is the option in Reiff.
