#33 - St. Louis, Jonathan Martin-Offensive Tackle, Stanford (underclassman)
Definite 1st round talent who fills a position of need for the Rams. Martin is unlikely to fall into the 2nd round but the Rams won’t have to think too long on day 2 to make this pick.
#34 - Indianapolis, Coby Fleener-Tight End, Stanford
Luck re-joined with Fleener just seems like a perfect match.
#35 - Minnesota, Janoris Jenkins-Cornerback, North Alabama
They shied away from corner in the first round despite it being their biggest need. Jenkins is a top 20 talent with off-field issues that may drop him into the second round. The Vikings can’t afford to pass him up here.
#36 - Tampa Bay, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
The Bucs need help at linebacker and David has all the skills on the field and only his perceived upside compared to other players in his position has him dropping to the second round.
#37 - Cleveland, Mike Adams-Offensive Tackle, Ohio State
Adams has dropped out of the first round but would be a very good addition for the Browns who need a right tackle.
#38 - Jacksonville, Andre Branch-Defensive End, Clemson
Branch is a solid prospect and will immediately upgrade the Jags end position.
#39 - St Louis (from Washington), Devon Still-Defensive Tackle/End, Penn State
Still is another great pick for the Rams who’s trade with Washington is setting them up nicely for the 2012 season.
#40 - Carolina, Kevin Zeitler-Offensive Guard, Wisconsin
Zeitler’s stock is rising enough and if the Panthers can pick him up here it will be a nice fit.
#41 - Buffalo, Nick Perry-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, USC
The Bills improved their pass rush significantly after signing off-season free agents Mario Williams and Mark Anderson but they will go back to the well for Perry who is unlikely to drop to #41.
#42 - Miami, Josh Robinson-Cornerback, UCF (underclassman)
The Dolphins will like to trade this pick to stockpile more in the middle rounds where they believe they can get some good players at both the wide receiver, cornerback and defensive tackle positions however if they can’t find a buyer they can go instead for the speedy Robinson who has a large upside.
#43 - Seattle, Vinny Curry-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Marshall
The Seahawks have a need at pass rush and despite already picking up Ingram in the first round, Curry is an enticing prospect at #43.
#44 - New England (from Kansas City through Jacksonville), Harrison Smith-Strong Safety, Notre Dame
The Pats may need to jump up to get Smith but if they can claim him at #44 it will be a huge pick for them at a position of need.
#45 - Dallas, Jayron Hosley-Cornerback, Virginia Tech
Hosley is a solid corner and the Cowboys have a need here but they may also choose to trade down if they can.
#46 - Philadelphia TRADE with Tampa Bay, Doug Martin-Running Back, Boise State
It seems like Martin won’t be around here but if he is, someone will take a shot at him. Tampa need a running back as Blount has too many questions and it could be worth the trade for them.
#47 - NY Jets, Lamar Miller-Running Back, Miami
Not sure if they’d prefer Miller or Wilson but running back is a likely option for a team desperate to get back to ground and pound.
#48 - New England (from Oakland), Kendall Reyes-Defensive Tackle, Connecticut
The Patriot Way is something altogether different and Kendall Reyes fits that mold nicely. He edges out a running back that could be picked up later in the draft.
#49 - San Diego, Alshon Jeffery-Wide Receiver, Notre Dame
The Chargers need a WR with Vincent Jackson leaving for Tampa Bay. Jeffery is a strong talent but off-field issues moves him into the 2nd round, the slide ends at #49.
#50 - Chicago, Mohamed Sanu-Wide Receiver, Rutgers (underclassman)
Another player with a large upside that will fill a need and encourage the Bears to reach slightly for him.
#51 - Philadelphia (from Arizona), Zach Brown-Outside Linebacker, North Carolina
Brown is a prototypical outside linebacker for the 4-3 however there are some question marks over his ability to stop the run. LB is a need for the Eagles and they may like Brown in various packages.
#52 - Tennessee, Amini Silatolu-Offensive Guard, Midwestern State
Silatolu is getting some mock draft love lately so if the Titans, who have a need at guard, can grab him at #52 it’s hard to see them looking elsewhere.
#53 - Cincinnati, Alfonzo Dennard-Cornerback, Nebraska
The Bengals want more depth at the corner position and Dennard is a fringe first rounder who could be a starter by season’s end.
#54 - Detroit, Dwayne Allen-Tight End, Clemson
It’s no secret that Detroit like the idea of adding another TE. Allen’s stock has dropped in favour of Coby Fleener in recent weeks however the Tight End from Clemson still has plenty to offer.
#55 - Atlanta, Jared Crick-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
Needs: LOT, TE, DE, DT, CB, OL - BNQ=3.3
Crick has some injury concerns which drops him down the draft board but with the Falcons first pick coming at #55, they need quality and Crick is worth the risk here.
#56 - Pittsburgh, Bobby Wagner-Inside Linebacker, Utah State
The Steelers would be very happy to upgrade their linebacking corps with Wagner who could play either inside or out in a 3-4.
#57 - Denver, David Wilson-Running Back, Virginia Tech
The Broncos want to garner more depth at the running back position and Wilson is a natural selection at #57.
#58 - Houston, Alameda Ta’amu-Nose Tackle,
This is a reach but players who can play the Nose are few and far between and Houston just might find it too risky to wait any longer than now to get their man that will complete the defense for Wade Phillips.
#59 - New Orleans - No Draft Pick due to NFL Penalty.
#60 - Green Bay, Trumaine Johnson-Cornerback, Montana
The Packers need help across their secondary. Trumaine Johnson has the size to move inside to safety and the speed to stay outside at corner.
#61 - Baltimore, Chris Givens-Wide Receiver, Miami (Ohio)
Chris Givens has speed and the Ravens do need to upgrade their receiving corps if they want to do better than last year’s AFC Conference Final loss.
#62 - San Francisco, Isaiah Pead-Running Back, Cincinnati
Pead showed plenty in the Senior Bowl and would be a surprise pick as a offensive/special teams weapon for the 49ers.
#63- New England, LaMichael James-Running Back, Oregon
With Benjarvus Green-Ellis going to Cincinnati, the Patriots would be wise to use one of their 4 draft picks in either the first or second round to replace him. Heismann Trophy winner James will add another dimension to their running game.
#64 - NY Giants, Brandon Thompson-Defensive Tackle, Clemson
The senior from Clemson could be hard to pass up this far down.
Definite 1st round talent who fills a position of need for the Rams. Martin is unlikely to fall into the 2nd round but the Rams won’t have to think too long on day 2 to make this pick.
#34 - Indianapolis, Coby Fleener-Tight End, Stanford
