NFL Mock Draft Round 2 (Pro Day Edition)

#33 - St. Louis, Devon Still-Defensive Tackle/End, Penn State
Definite 1st round talent who fills a position of need for the Rams. What’s not to like?

#34 - Indianapolis, Doug Martin-Running Back, Boise State
The Colts need a center and with Peter Konz still on the board he may be the pick here. However Doug Martin is a fringe first round talent and with word out of Indianapolis that they will be returning to a ground game this year it may come down to who they like most between Martin, David Wilson and Lamar Miller.

#35 - Minnesota, Janoris Jenkins-Cornerback, North Alabama
They shied away from corner in the first round despite it being their biggest need. Jenkins is a top 20 talent with off-field issues that may drop him into the second round. The Vikings can’t afford to pass him up here.

#36 - Tampa Bay, Brandon Weeden-Quarterback, Oklahoma State
The Bucs want some healthy competition for Josh Freeman who didn’t live up to the hype last season. Dan Orlovsky and Brett Ratliff hardly provide it but 28 year old Weeden is as pro ready as any of the Quarterbacks not named Luck or RGIII and gives Tampa’s new coaching staff some options.

#37 - Cleveland TRADE with Tennessee, Andre Branch-Defensive End, Clemson
Branch is the last of the first round talents left on the board in a position of need for the Titans. With the Browns giving up a 3rd and a 4th to move up 8 spots in the 1st round they are keen to get some picks back so the trade seems like a good deal for both sides.

#38 - Jacksonville, Dwayne Allen-Tight End, Clemson
Allen’s stock has dropped in favour of Coby Fleener in recent weeks however the Tight End from Clemson still has plenty to offer and with Jacksonville not happy with Mercedes Lewis’s production last year they may turn to Allen instead. CB Alfonzo Dennard is another option here.

#39 - St. Louis (from Washington), Zach Brown-Outside Linebacker, North Carolina
Brown is a prototypical outside linebacker for the 4-3 however there are some question marks over his ability to stop the run. OLB is arguably the Rams biggest need and if they don’t take Brown it may be fellow OLB Lavonte David.

#40 - Carolina, Brandon Thompson-Defensive Tackle, Clemson
It’s a bit of a reach but with the Panthers need for a big presence up front the senior from Clemson could be hard to pass up.

#41 - Buffalo, Bobby Wagner-Inside Linebacker, Utah State
Wagner’s Pro Day projects him moving to Outside Linebacker which is precisely what the Bills need in returning to a 4-3 this year under Dave Wannstadt.

#42 - Miami, Zebrie Sanders-Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma State
The Dolphins could look at QB’s Kirk Cousins or Brock Osweiler but if neither player appeals to them here they could go for Sanders who would be a good addition at right tackle.

#43 - Seattle, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
The Seahawks are another team sniffing for a quarterback but right now their biggest need is at outside linebacker and David is a solid choice at #43.

#44 - Kansas City, Alshon Jeffery-Wide Receiver, Notre Dame
Don’t be surprised if the Chiefs take Kirk Cousins here, but if they are happy to stick with Cassel for the time being then Jeffery is a player that could help him if he can perform to his potential. Off-field concerns could sway them in another direction however.

#45 - Dallas, Kevin Zeitler-Offensive Guard, Wisconsin
The Cowboys continue to upgrade their offensive line after last year’s 1st round pick in Tyron Smith.

#46 - Philadelphia, Amini Silatolu-Offensive Guard, Midwestern State
Zeitler just taken, no problem, Silatolu could be an even better prospect at guard.

#47 - NY Jets, David Wilson-Running Back, Virginia Tech
The Jets want to get back to ground and pound, the current running backs aren’t getting the job done in New York and Wilson is a good addition at this point.

#48 - New England (from Oakland), Peter Konz-Offensive Center, Wisconsin (underclassman)
The Pats need a center so this the fact that Konz is here at this point is an easy match.

#49 - San Diego, Alfonzo Dennard-Cornerback, Nebraska
The Chargers need more depth at the corner position and Dennard is a fringe first rounder who could be a starter by season’s end.

#50 - Chicago, Lamar Miller-Running Back, Miami
If rumours are true about RB Matt Forte then the Bears will need a suitable replacement, or at least someone to share carries with new signing Michael Bush. Miller is a guy that was fringe first round up until a few weeks back and will be a good acquisition at #50.

#51 - Philadelphia (from Arizona), Chandler Jones-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Syracuse
Chandler Jones is someone who may not drop this far but we here at nflmockdrafts.com can’t seeing him getting past Philadelphia at #51 in their 2nd of two second round picks. Yes they already upgraded their front 7 in the first round with  Fletcher Cox but there is no harm in adding Jones also.

#52 -Cleveland (from Tennessee), Chris Givens-Wide Receiver, Miami (Ohio)
Chris Givens has speed, just what the Browns are lacking, and with Ryan Tannehill now in town he will need a weapon or two to throw to.

#53 - Cincinnati, Isaiah Pead-Running Back, Cincinnati
Pead showed plenty in the Senior Bowl and as the Bengals need a running back, who better than someone who comes right out of Cincinnati?

#54 - Detroit, Jayron Hosley-Cornerback, Virginia Tech
It’s no secret that Detroit need to revamp their secondary and Hosley is a solid pick out of Virginia Tech that could be a week 1 starter.

#55 - Atlanta, Vinny Curry-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Marshall
Needs: LOT, TE, CB, DE, OG - BNQ=3.3
The Falcons like to take need but with not many obvious choices at either Left Tackle or Tight End they may instead opt to add a Defensive End in Curry who has a large upside.

#56 - Pittsburgh, Harrison Smith-Strong Safety, Notre Dame
The Steelers may look to trade this pick, if not expect them to go BPA who happens to be a strong safety and can potentially be a long term replacement to Troy Polamalu.

#57 - Denver, Jamell Fleming-Cornerback, Oklahoma
Fleming is rising up the boards, if he is still there at #57 we think Denver will like what they see enough to pull the trigger and add depth at corner.

#58 - Houston, Josh Chapman-Nose Tackle, Alabama
This is a reach and the Texans may want to wait until round 3, particularly as they have Philadelphia’s pick then. However players who can play the Nose are few and far between and Houston just might find it too risky to wait any longer than now to get their man that will complete the defense for Wade Phillips.

#59 - New Orleans - No Draft Pick due to NFL Penalty.

#60 - Green Bay, Shea McClellin-Defensive End, Boise State
McClellin is rising fast enough to be included here although Jared Crick and Bruce Irvin are alternatives.

#61 - Baltimore, Bruce Irvin-Outside Linebacker/Defensive End, West Virginia
The Ravens like to go BPA and believe Irvin will be a long-term player for them over the years.

#62 - San Francisco, Josh Robinson-Cornerback, UCF (underclassman)
Robinson was a surprise declaration for the draft and will sure up one of the few weaker areas in the San Francisco team.

#63- New England, Chris Polk-Running Back, Washington
With Benjarvus Green-Ellis going to Cincinnati, the Patriots would be wise to use one of their 4 draft picks in either the first or second round to replace him. Polk is a solid option here.

#64 - NY Giants, Kelechi Osemele-Offensive Guard/Tackle, Iowa State
Giants need help on the O-Line quite severely especially at right tackle, Osemele could cover there or at guard, that’s enough for the champions to make their move.
