Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Week 17 edition)

Round 2 of the Draft just may look like this...

#33 - St. Louis, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
We like the look of David out of Nebraska and he projects as an outside linebacker in a 4-3 which is a need for the Rams.

#34 - Indianapolis, Jared Crick-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
Indy have needs at D-Line as well as corner or O-Line and maybe even running back. Crick is highly regarded and can play either end or tackle which should be enough for the Colts to pull the trigger.

#35 - Cleveland, Chase Minnifield-Cornerback/Kick Returner, Virginia
The Browns need a CB and Minnifield is a guy that could rise the boards before too long with excellent intangibles and ability as a kick returner. Cleveland have Cribbs but may want to use him more in the offense and less in special teams. Either way this seems like a good choice for a team that likes to pick need but won’t reach too far to do it.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Week 17 edition)

Take a look at our mock draft for this week based upon the revised standings posted the day before.

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Needs: CB, OT, DT - BPA vs Need Quotient=5.7
Still got Andrew Luck out of Stanford going here despite it being a secondary need for the Colts. They do need Offensive Line help and Matt Kalil could be an option but realistically the Colts won’t pass up Luck unless it is via a trade. The only question left is whether Manning will be dealt and how will that affect the draft order if he does?

#2 - St Louis, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
Needs: CB, OLB, DT, OT - BNQ=4.5
The Rams will draft the best player at a position of need. They also need help in lots of areas including cornerback and wide receiver where Morris Claiborne and Justin Blackmon will come under consideration however Kalil is now the undisputed number 2 on the board and will be just what St Louis need to help QB Sam Bradford stay upright.

#3 - Tampa Bay, Morris Claiborne-Cornerback, LSU (underclassman)
Needs: OLB, ILB, CB - BNQ=5.4
Expect the Bucs to take BPA which would be a choice between Robert Griffin III and Morris Claiborne. We are guessing that Tampa stick with Josh Freeman but at this point anything is possible.

NFL Final Draft Order predicted after Week 16

Each week of the NFL season we here at mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com use our predictor for the remainding matchups to predict what order the draft will be picked. Unlike most mock drafts that just use current league standings, mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com gives a more realistic picture of where teams will end up thus giving a more accurate mock draft. Lets see what the end of year standings will be as of Week 16 (note: this is updated weekly!)
1. Indianapolis (2-14, Most of the season the Colts to Luck move was automatic, now it is not 100% but still most likely thanks to Indy’s strength of schedule)
2. St. Louis (2-14, what happened? At least they will get another opportunity to upgrade)
3. Tampa Bay (4-12, a tougher schedule led to a very disappointing result, coach now on the hot seat as is QB Freeman)

Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Week 16 edition)

Here is the 2nd round of picks for the Week 16 Edition of mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com NFL Mock Draft for 2012, please add your comments. (Note: this updates weekly!)

#33 - Indianapolis, Lamar Miller-Running Back, Miami
After snatching the Luck sweepstakes they get ‘lucky’ twice around as Miller falls to them in a position of dire need.

#34 - St. Louis, Brandon Thompson-Defensive Tackle, Clemson
This guy is big and strong and just what St Louis need up front.

#35 - Minnesota, Mohamed Sanu-Wide Receiver, Rutgers
Apparently Sanu is a Kenny Britt clone, sounds like what the doctor ordered for the Vikings who fill their biggest need now.

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Week 16 edition)

Here is my mock draft for the NFL 2012 Draft. It is updated weekly with positions and picks redetermined depending on results, play and prediction updates.

Let me know in the comments section what your thoughts are.

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
Still got Andrew Luck out of Stanford going here despite it being a secondary need for the Colts. The only question left is whether Manning will be dealt and how will that affect the draft order if he does?

#2 - Minnesota, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
Kalil has declared for the 2012 draft. The Vikings are known to draft on need and coach Leslie Frazier (if still around) might want to draft Justin Blackmon here to give his new QB Christian Ponder a target. However there is no point having a target if you can’t stay upright, left tackle is almost as big a need as receiver and Kalil has the higher grade so this fits, for now.

#3 - St. Louis, Morris Claiborne-Cornerback, LSU (underclassman)
Expect the Rams to draft the best available player at a position of need. Probably would take Kalil if still there and may look at Riley Reiff but corner is an even bigger need than tackle at the moment and Claiborne is rated highly. Dre Kirkpatrick is another option here.

#4 Tampa Bay, Justin Blackmon-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State
Tampa Bay like to take best player on board as long as it is a position of some need. There is no doubt that Freeman needs more help from his receivers although equally there is no doubt the Bucs need linebackers and corners desperately too. If Claiborne is still on the board that is another alternative as is Kirkpatrick who we predict to rise on the draft boards closer to April. Linebacker is a big need but less of an option due to the lack of a standout in that position.

#5 Cleveland, Trent Richardson-Halfback, Alabama (underclassman)
Holmgren has not been tempted by the flashy choices since taking over at Cleveland and will probably shun either QB or WR again for either more draft picks with a trade or a right tackle. Alternatively, he will take the best player on the board at the position of most need in Richardson. This pick could be altered if they keep Hillis around but Richardson looks like the next Adrian Peterson but with better hands so I can’t see the Browns passing that opportunity up.

NFL Final Draft Order predicted after Week 15

Each week of the NFL season we here at mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com use our predictor for the remainding matchups to predict what order the draft will be picked. Unlike most mock drafts that just use current league standings, mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com gives a more realistic picture of where teams will end up thus giving a more accurate mock draft. Lets see what the end of year standings will be as of Week 15 (note: this is updated weekly!)

1. Indianapolis (1-15, As predicted last week they get a win to avoid the ignonimy of a winless season but now it is definitely time to ensure they get Luck)
2. Minnesota (2-14, The losing streak now stands at 6 and will probably get to 8, best chance of a win is this week at Washington but still not very likely)
3. St. Louis (2-14, what happened? At least they will get another opportunity to upgrade)
4. Tampa Bay (4-12, a tougher schedule led to a very disappointing result, coach now on the hot seat as is QB Freeman)
5. Cleveland (4-12, this was actually expected with the musical chairs at coach the Browns do)

NFL Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Week 15 Edition)

Here is the 2nd round of picks for the Week 15 Edition of mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com NFL Mock Draft for 2012...

#33 - Indianapolis, Lamar Miller-Running Back, Miami
After snatching the Luck sweepstakes they get ‘lucky’ twice around as Miller falls to them in a position of dire need.

#34 - Minnesota, Chase Minnifield-Cornerback/Kick Returner, Virginia

Mock Draft 2012 1st Round (Week 15 edition)

Here is my mock draft for the NFL 2012 Draft. It is updated weekly with positions and picks redeterminted depending on results, play and prediction updates.

Let me know in the comments section what your thoughts are.

#1 - Indianapolis, Andrew Luck QB, Stanford (underclassman)
This one is done and dusted, Andrew Luck QB out of Stanford goes to the Colts so they can continue their complete domination of the AFC South - Houston, you had your chance, and Schaub went down, now enjoy another 10 years of being #2. The only question left is where will Manning be dealt?

#2 - St. Louis, Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle, USC (underclassman)
This works out perfectly for the Rams who need to protect their star QB Sam Bradford. The only fear is Kalil will bust like 2009 2nd overall pick Jason Smith but it shouldn’t stop the Rams management from pulling the trigger on Kalil.

#3 - Minnesota, Justin Blackmon-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State

NFL Final Standings Predicted after Week 14

The first thing we do here at mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com is use our predictor for the remainder of the season to see what order the draft will be picked. Unlike most mock drafts that just use current league standings, mocknfldrafts.blogspot.com gives a more realistic picture of where teams will end up thus giving a more accurate mock draft. Lets see what the end of year standings will be as of Week 14 (note: this is updated weekly!)

1. Indianapolis (They get to 1-15, just enough to avoid the ignonimy of a winless season but still good/bad enough to claim Luck)
2. St. Louis (2-14, what happened?)
3. Minnesota (2-14, With a tough schedule I still don't see them winning another game)
4. Miami (4-12, showed glimpses, but needed a whole lot Moore (get it, aaah forget it))
5. Tampa Bay (4-12, a tougher schedule led to a very disappointing result, coach now on the hot seat)
