Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Championship edition)

Here's Round 2

#33 - St. Louis, Fletcher Cox-Defensive End/Tackle, Mississippi State
The Rams need a DT and Cox has a first round grade on him so hard to see them passing him up on day 2 of the draft.

#34 - Indianapolis, Alfonzo Dennard-Cornerback, Nebraska
There are a number of corners with a first round grade and it seems likely one may fall into the second round, if so this is a great score for the Colts who need secondary help.

#35 - Minnesota, Mohamed Sanu-Wide Receiver, Rutgers (underclassman)
The Vikings already upgraded at CB and now try to do the same at WR. Sanu has good hands, is smart and will get open and is just what new QB Christian Ponder needs opposite Percy Harvin.

#36 - Tampa Bay, Zach Brown-Outside Linebacker, North Carolina
The Bucs like Brown to upgrade their linebacking corps and is good value at the top of the second round.

#37 -Cleveland, Dwayne Allen-Tight End, Clemson
The Browns need to give QB Colt McCoy more options so what better than to grab the number one tight end on the board?

#38 - Jacksonville, Andre Branch-Defensive End, Clemson
The Jags need help at DE and Branch is currently the top rated player left at that position.

#39 - Washington, Brandon Weeden-Quarterback, Oklahoma State
It stands to reason that someone will take a chance on the 28 year old senior out of Oklahoma State. The Redskins may be best poised to do just that.

#40/#42 - Carolina, Brandon Washington-Offensive Guard, Miami
The Panthers are looking for some stiffness to their right side and Glenn is a late first rounder that has dropped. If St Louis go ahead of Carolina than fellow guard Brandon Washington is a high 2nd round prospect that will be a starter from day one.

#41 - Buffalo, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
The Bills are switching back to a 4-3 and David will be able to play alongside Kelvin Sheppard and Nick Barnett.

#40/42 - St Louis (from Miami), Stephen Gilmore-Cornerback, South Carolina
The Rams have many needs but corner ranks right at the top, Gilmore has a lot of potential and could thrive under new coach Jeff Fisher.

#43/#44 - Seattle, Brandon Thompson-Defensive Tackle, Clemson
Did anyone say upgrade? Thompson is a beast and Seattle need strengthening on their D-Line.

#43/#44 - Kansas City, Bobby Wagner-Inside Linebacker, Utah State
Wagner is a player that could rise steadily up the draft boards over the next 3 months and the Chiefs need a ILB so the match is there. NT Josh Chapman is another option as is a QB if there is someone Crennell likes.

#45 - Dallas, Leonard Johnson-Cornerback, Iowa State
Johnson is climbing the boards and is a need for the Cowboys, OG Kelechi Osemele is another direction they could take with this pick.

#46 - Philadelphia, Kelechi Osemele-Offensive Guard/Tackle, Iowa State
Philly have needs in many areas, one of which is the O-Line, Osemele can cover both guard and tackle and is good value here.

#47 - NY Jets, David Wilson-Running Back, Virginia Tech
The Jets want to get back to ground and pound, the current running backs aren’t getting the job done in New York and Wilson is a good addition at this point.

#48 - TRADE Miami (from Oakland through New England), Coby Fleener-Tight End, Stanford
The Dolphins gave up their 2nd round pick to get RGIII but they needed help at receiver so they dish out further picks to get back into the 2nd round to take Fleener.

#49 - San Diego, Chase Minnifield-Cornerback/Kick Returner, Virginia
The Chargers need help at CB and Minnifield is a guy that could rise the boards before too long with excellence intangibles and ability as a kick returner, replacing Darren Sproles whom San Diego sorely missed last season.

#50 - Chicago, Vinny Curry-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Marshall
There is something about Vinny Curry that could entice the Bears at DE.

#51 - Philadelphia (from Arizona), Jonathan Massaquoi-Outside Linebacker, Troy
The Eagles continue to upgrade their linebacking core with the junior out of Troy.

#52 - Tennessee, Ronnell Lewis-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Oklahoma
The Titans need a DE and Ronnell Lewis is at very good value at #52.

#53 - Cincinnati, Kevin Zeitler-Offensive Guard, Wisconsin
The Bengals continue to fill a need with Kevin Zeitler at guard.

#54 - Detroit, Doug Martin-Running Back, Boise State
The Lions could do with running back help despite the fact they have tried (unsuccessfully) to fill the position in recent drafts.

#55 - Atlanta, Orson Charles-Tight End, Georgia
Needs: LOT, TE, CB, DE, OG - BNQ=3.3
The Falcons like to take need and have little option as this is their first pick of the draft so Charles replaces Gonzalez at tight end.

#56 - Pittsburgh, Brock Osweiler-Quarterback, Arizona State
The Steelers may trade this pick, alternatively they need a backup for oft-injured Ben Roethlisberger and 6-7 Osweiler would fit the system.

#57 - Denver, Chris Polk-Running Back, Washington
WR is another option but if the Broncos are going to play the option then they need multiple options at Running Back. Can I get the word option in there again?

#58 Houston, Jared Crick-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
They have bigger needs but Crick’s value could be too good to pass up this far down.

#59 - New Orleans, Kendall Reyes-Defensive Tackle, Connecticut
Needs: ROT, DE, DT, OL - BNQ=4.8
New Orleans’ first pick of the draft and they get a good player at a great value in a position of need.

#60 - Green Bay, George Iloka-Free Safety, Boise State
The Packers may go RB or TE here but with one of the worst defenses this year they take Iloka to help at safety.

#61 - Baltimore, Rueben Randle-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma
Costly drops kept Baltimore out of the superbowl as much as Billy Cundiff’s missed chip shot did, Randle is a steal this far down.

#62 - San Francisco, Stephen Hill-Wide Receiver, Georgia Tech
The Niners already upgraded at WR in the first round but to show exactly what is required to take the next step they go receiver again in the 2nd.

#63- New England, Billy Wynn-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Boise State
The Pats get a good player that can help in multiple fronts here.

#64 - NY Giants, Sean Spence - Outside Linebacker Miami (Fla.)
The Giants have a decent pass rush on the edge but need help in behind at linebacker, Spence is the best option here.
