Mock Draft 2012 2nd Round (Superbowl edition)

Here is Round 2 of this week's mock draft...

#33 - St. Louis, Fletcher Cox-Defensive End/Tackle, Mississippi State
The Rams need a DT and Cox has a first round grade on him so hard to see them passing him up on day 2 of the draft.

#34 - Indianapolis, Janoris Jenkins-Cornerback, North Alabama
Someone will take a chance on Jenkins to overcome off-field issues, and it may occur here if not before. Other choices are a DT or OL but none are rated as highly as Jenkins.

#35 - Minnesota, Mohamed Sanu-Wide Receiver, Rutgers (underclassman)
The Vikings already upgraded at CB and now try to do the same at WR. Sanu has good hands, is smart and will get open and is just what new QB Christian Ponder needs opposite Percy Harvin.

#36 - Tampa Bay, Zach Brown-Outside Linebacker, North Carolina
The Bucs like Brown to upgrade their linebacking corps and is good value at the top of the second round.

#37 -Cleveland, Dwayne Allen-Tight End, Clemson
The Browns need to give QB Colt McCoy more options so what better than to grab the number one tight end on the board?

#38 - Jacksonville, Andre Branch-Defensive End, Clemson
The Jags need help at DE and Branch is currently the top rated player left at that position.

#39 - Washington, David Wilson-Running Back, Virginia Tech
Wilson is added by Mike Shanahan who now has his starting running back and QB.

#40/#42 - Carolina, Cordy Glenn-Offensive Guard, Georgia/Brandon Washington-Offensive Guard, Miami
The Panthers are looking for some stiffness to their right side and Glenn is a late first rounder that has dropped. If St. Louis go ahead of Carolina then fellow guard Brandon Washington is a high 2nd round prospect that will be a starter from day one.

#41 - Buffalo, Lavonte David-Outside Linebacker, Nebraska
The Bills are switching back to a 4-3 and David will be able to play alongside Kelvin Sheppard and Nick Barnett.

#40/42 - St. Louis (from Miami), Cordy Glenn-Offensive Guard, Georgia/Brandon Washington-Offensive Guard, Miami
St Louis need a guard and Glenn is a late first rounder that has dropped. If Carolina pick ahead of the Rams then fellow guard Brandon Washington is a high 2nd round prospect that will be a starter from day one.

#43/#44 - Seattle, Bruce Irvin-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, West Virginia
Irvin’s biggest strength is his pass rush and that’s precisely what the Seahawks need.

#43/#44 - Kansas City, Bobby Wagner-Inside Linebacker, Utah State
Wagner is a player that could rise steadily up the draft boards over the next 3 months and the Chiefs need a ILB so the match is there. NT Josh Chapman is another option as is a QB if there is someone Crennell likes.

#45 - Dallas, Stephen Gilmore-Cornerback, South Carolina
Gilmore has got potential and is a good pickup for Dallas at this stage of the draft considering their porous secondary.

#46 - Philadelphia, Kelechi Osemele-Offensive Guard/Tackle, Iowa State
Philly have needs in many areas, one of which is the O-Line, Osemele can cover both guard and tackle and is good value here.

#47 - NY Jets, Chase Minnifield-Cornerback/Kick Returner, Virginia
The Jets need help at CB and Minnifield is a guy that could rise the boards before too long with excellence intangibles and ability as a kick returner.

#48 - TRADE Miami (from Oakland through New England), Coby Fleener-Tight End, Stanford
The Dolphins gave up their 2nd round pick to get RGIII but they needed help at receiver so they dish out further picks to get back into the 2nd round to take Fleener.

#49 - San Diego, Jayron Hosley-Cornerback, Virginia Tech
The Chargers need secondary help, Hosley is the top rated corner and is the pick here.

#50 - Chicago, Rueben Randle-Wide Receiver, Oklahoma
Taking Randle here almost makes too much sense, the Bears will probably do something different but lets imagine they actually do the right thing and take a top flight player at a position of need.

#51 - Philadelphia (from Arizona), Brandon Thompson-Defensive Tackle, Clemson
A beast of a player that immediately upgrades the Eagles small front seven.

#52 - Tennessee, Ronnell Lewis-Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Oklahoma
The Titans need a DE and Ronnell Lewis is at very good value at #52.

#53 - Cincinnati, Kevin Zeitler-Offensive Guard, Wisconsin
The Bengals continue to fill a need with Kevin Zeitler at guard.

#54 - Detroit, Trumaine Johnson-Cornerback, Montana
Johnson is a sensible pickup for Detroit at this stage of the draft considering their porous secondary but they still need help across their Offensive Line.

#55 - Atlanta, Orson Charles-Tight End, Georgia
Needs: LOT, TE, CB, DE, OG - BNQ=3.3
The Falcons like to take need and have little option as this is their first pick of the draft so Charles replaces Gonzalez at tight end.

#56 - Pittsburgh, Josh Chapman-Nose Tackle, Alabama
The Steelers like to take BPA and Chapman will also fill a big need at NT. Win-win for Pittsburgh.

#57 - Denver, Chris Polk-Running Back, Washington
WR is another option but if the Broncos are going to play the option then they need multiple options at Running Back. Can I get the word option in there again?

#58 Houston, Jared Crick-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
They have bigger needs but Crick’s value could be too good to pass up this far down.

#59 - New Orleans, Billy Wynn-Defensive End/Defensive Tackle, Boise State
Needs: ROT, DE, DT, OL - BNQ=4.8
New Orleans’ first pick of the draft and they get a good player at a great value in a position of need.

#60 - Green Bay, Markelle Martin-Free Safety, Oklahoma State
The Packers may go RB or TE here but with one of the worst defenses this year they take Martin who may be a week 1 starter.

#61 - Baltimore, Bobby Massie-Offensive Tackle, Mississippi
Could this 6-6 tackle out of Mississippi be the Ravens answer to help protect Joe Flacco? Only time will tell.

#62 - San Francisco, Brandon Boykin-Cornerback, Georgia
Brandon Boykin is a slight reach but if the Niners want to take the next step they do need an upgrade at corner.

#63/#64 - NY Giants, Sean Spence - Outside Linebacker Miami (Fla.)
The Giants have a decent pass rush on the edge but need help in behind at linebacker, Spence is the best choice here.

#63/#64- New England, Brian Quick-Wide Receiver, Appalachian State
The Pats may look at a safety or DT but Quick is higher on their boards at this stage.
